Power restored to 2,700 customers after storm outage

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A number of Las Vegas residents were without power Tuesday morning after a storm rolled through the valley on Monday.

According to NV Energy, more than 2,700 customers were without power as of 4 a.m.

The main outage area was near Charleston Boulevard and Maryland Parkway, with the cause listed as weather related according to NV Energy.

The power company estimated electricity to be restored to the area around 6:30 a.m., after the outage was first reported about 9 p.m. Monday.

NV Energy updated the numbers to less than 1,000 customers were without electricity at about 6 a.m., with the outage corrected by 7:15 a.m.

Monday's powerful storm prompted severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings.
