It’s being called one of the biggest non-title fights in UFC history. Conor McGregor will again face Nate Diaz Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

The rivals weighed in ahead of UFC 202 Friday afternoon. Since McGregor tapped out to Diaz back in March, fight fans have been clamoring for a rematch.

It’s been a war of words so far, and on Wednesday water bottles flew during a pre-fight press conference. Friday’s weigh-in was fairly tame on the stage, but less so in the audience.

Thousands of fans gathered in the Marquee Ballroom at MGM Grand Friday.

“I’m pumped. This is exciting. We’re walking through the halls with a bunch of crazy Irish fans. It’s a blast, man. This is a cool fight,” McGregor fan Blake Jackson said.

While there was speculation Wednesday’s fracas was staged, several fans in attendance Friday disagreed.

“I think there is a real, heated element to it. I think they respect each other, but I think it’s real. I think there is a legitimate element between the two crews,” fight fan Sergio Rodriguez said.

For the second time in three days, the parties had to be separated.

It’s not just fans who are excited. Elvis Sinosic, a former UFC fighter, said we may witness one of the best fights in octagon history.

“This is the biggest non-title fight ever. We are getting as much fanfare and response as we do for a lot of title fights. [It’s] crazy, awesome - really exciting,” Sinosic said.

A win by McGregor would almost certainly set up a third fight.
