Metro police take suspect in woman’s homicide into custody

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police on Friday reported the suspect in a woman’s Aug. 12 slaying was taken into custody.

Jaime Santana, 25, was taken into custody in the area of Charleston Boulevard and Palm Street without incident on Friday. Santana will be booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he will face a charge of murder with a deadly weapon.

Police earlier this week located the vehicle Santana was driving.

Santana is the suspect in the slaying of Wendy Rodriguez, whose body was discovered at a home on Lilac Lane in Las Vegas on the morning of Aug. 12.

It’s believed Rodriguez struggled with her killer and received multiple injuries. This marked the 104th homicide investigated by Metro in 2016.
