The City of Henderson is providing technology training for unemployed or underemployed residents of Southern Nevada.

The city’s IT boot camp kicks off next week which caters to the high-quality tech jobs, Henderson Public Information Officer Keith Paul said. Henderson was granted $114,200 from the Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation and Technology for this program.

The city of Henderson is partnering up with Transmosis, a workplace technology organization founded in Silicon Valley.

“IT Boot Camp training builds a bridge between Henderson residents seeking quality employment in the technology field and the employers who need a skilled workforce to make their businesses grow and our economy prosper,” Mayor Andy Hafen said.

The course is located at the Water Street District in downtown Henderson. It runs six hours per day for ten weeks.

Interested residents can apply for the program here: http://transmosis.com/sign-up-for-transmosis-it-support-bootcamp/.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
