LVMPD: Pedestrian outside of crosswalk when struck

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle late Thursday night, according to Las Vegas Metro police.

The incident occurred at 11:21 p.m. at Flamingo Road and Tamarus Street, near Maryland Parkway.

Police said a Nissan was traveling eastbound on Flamingo, near Tamarus when it struck a pedestrian walking outside of a marked crosswalk and against a pedestrian traffic signal.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by medics, police said.

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will later release the identity of the deceased.
