LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police said they are investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian in the southeast part of the valley Wednesday.

It happened just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard.

According to police, a Ford Focus traveling northwest on Boulder Highway on a green light struck a pedestrian who was walking across Boulder Highway in a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was walking against a "Don't Walk" sign.

The 60-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Strader said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment, Strader said.

The incident remains under investigation.

Northbound Boulder Highway was closed between Harmon Avenue and Nellis Boulevard until 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will later release the identity of the deceased.
