Metro: 2 confirmed dead in plane crash

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police said two people were killed in a plane crash Saturday evening. 

Emergency crews found two deceased individuals at the crash site at near Liteweight Road, and State Route 604, Ian Gregor, of the Federal Aviation Administration, and police confirmed. 

The aircraft was described as a single-engine Extra EA300 plane, according to Gregor. 

Police said dispatch originally received a call regarding the incident at 5:00 p.m. in the area west of the dry lake beds near Jean. 

Police said due to weather, and location, Metro's search and rescue also responded. 

The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the incident. 

No further details were immediately disclosed on the crash. 

The identity of the deceased will later be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
