LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Wynn Resorts has announced an entertainment expansion project that involves a first-ever recreational lake concept.

According to the corporation, the project will involve a 38-acre lagoon that will be surrounded by meeting and convention space, a 1,000-room hotel tower, small casino and extensive dining and nightlife.

Tentatively called Wynn Paradise Park, plans call for the expansion to be constructed on 130 acres that currently house the Wynn Golf Club. The lagoon will be lined by a white sand beach and boardwalk and include water skiing, paddle boarding and parasailing.

“We have a chance to reinvent Las Vegas and make the whole venue an entertainment attraction - an idyllic beach paradise surrounded by white sand beaches,” Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn said.

In addition, plans are in the works for Wynn Plaza, a retail complex featuring 75,518 square feet of retail space.

The expansion is subject to approval by the company’s board of directors.
