LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police department said singer, Chris Brown, will not face charges stemming from a battery investigation in Las Vegas.

According to Officer Laura Meltzer, of Las Vegas Metro police, there was insufficient evidence, so the case was suspended.

Meltzer added, if the police department receives additional info later, then the case may be reopened.

Police said on Jan. 2 a woman claimed she was hurt in an altercation involving Brown during a party at The Palms Casino Resort.

The police investigation indicated the victim was attending a party inside a hotel room, and the alleged incident took place over a cell phone, when she tried to take a picture of Brown.

The woman appeared to have minor injuries at the time she reported the incident, police said.

A police report was filed on the incident, but no charges were submitted to the district attorney.
