LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A 57-year-old man was identified as the person who was stabbed to death at a strip mall on Thursday.

The Clark County Coroner's Office ruled Avetis Shilgevorkorkyan's death as a homicide stemming from a stab wound of the chest.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, the incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. at a shopping center located at 6620 W. Flamingo Road, just west of South Torrey Pines Drive.

Metro Lt. Will Hudler said the victim was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Metro's Lt. Dan McGrath said an investigation indicated that two men between 40 and 60 years old were arguing inside the Shish Kabob House restaurant. Detectives believe the argument continued outside the restaurant where one of the men stabbed the other in the chest before fleeing.

McGrath said police followed a trail of blood to an apartment complex, where it abruptly ended.

"There is some surveillance video. We're trying to figure out what happened," McGrath said. "From the witnesses, we can say that he went eastbound. The blood trail confirms that, and it ends near the apartment complex. We don't know if he got into a vehicle. This is preliminary right now. We have a lot of work to do at this point."

Witnesses said the man responsible was wearing blue jeans and a blue polo shirt.
