LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A system-wide issue is keeping Spirit Airlines passengers from departing Las Vegas on Tuesday, according to McCarran Airport officials.

The airport tweeted before noon of the issue involving the budget airliner. McCarran Airport urged passengers using Spirit to contact the airline before heading out to their gate.

FOX5 first received emails from passengers Tuesday morning regarding delays. One passenger reported being delayed since late Monday night with no flight crews present at the scheduled time of departure.

Christine Crews, public information officer for the airport, said people waiting at the gates are being fed and provided water as well as formula for younger passengers.

A check of McCarran's website Tuesday afternoon showed a number of Spirit flights that were delayed for at least an hour.
