An Arizona man has died after being pulled from a beach in west Maui.

Police said 60-year-old Greg Eveloff of Scottsdale was swimming in the waters near the Sheraton Resort in Kaanapali Saturday when he experienced difficulties.

Hawaii News Now reports Eveloff lost consciousness as he was being brought to shore.

Rescuers gave him CPR, but he died at the scene.

Authorities say an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

Eveloff was CEO of The Clotherie, an upscale men's clothing store in Phoenix, according to the store's website.

The Clotherie was a partner with the Phoenix Suns of the NBA, and provided the wardrobes for coaches and broadcasters.

"On behalf of the entire Suns organization, I would like to extend my sincere condolences and regards to Greg's family, friends and co-workers," Phoenix Suns' President Jason Rowley said in a statement released Tuesday morning.

"Greg was a trusted friend to many, whose positive and caring nature led to relationships with each Suns' head coach and broadcaster he interacted with during his incredible tenure at The Clotherie. His passion and love for his family, our community and his profession will surely be missed."

Suns Head Coach Jeff Hornacek said,  "I met Greg at the beginning of last season and he was so friendly and generous that I felt as if I had known him for many, many years. He always wanted to go the extra mile to make things special. Stacy and I will miss his friendship."
