HOUSTON, TX (WAFB) -

No. 13 LSU started off slow and spotted No. 14 Wisconsin a 24-7 lead before the Tigers rallied to beat the Badgers 28-24 in Houston on Saturday night.

"We're a blue collar team that's going to fight like hell," LSU head coach Les Miles said after the win.

Senior running back Kenny Hilliard ran for a 28-yard touchdown run with 9:41 left in the game to give the Tigers the lead the win over Wisconsin. He finished with 110 yards on 18 carries to lead all LSU rushers and 93 of those yards were in the fourth quarter. Highly-touted freshman running back Leonard Fournette finished with 18 yards on eight carries.

Sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings threw two touchdown passes. One of those was an 80-yard bomb to wide receiver Travin Dural in the first quarter. Jennings also connected with wide receiver John Diarse for a 35-yard touchdown. Jennings completed 9 of 21 pass attempts for 238 yards. He also had no interceptions. Dural led all LSU receivers with 151 yards on just three catches.

The Badgers seemed almost unstoppable in the first half. The team rushed for 173 yards, with running back Melvin Gordon accounting for 76 of those. Wisconsin running back Reggie Love had only one carry in the game and it was a 45-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Badgers finished the game with 268 yards on the ground.

However, Wisconsin had trouble throwing the football. Quarterback Tanner McEvoy was 8 of 24 with only 50 yards passing. He also threw two interceptions. One of those was by Jalen Mills with 11:04 left in the game and set up the winning drive for the Tigers.

On another note, with the win, LSU extended its regular-season nonconference winning streak to 46 games, which leads the nation.
