Las Vegas man, 20, identified in fatal stabbing

Medical examiners released on Wednesday the identity of a Las Vegas man who died after being found wounded in the city's east side.

According to the Clark County Coroner's Office, Juan Jesus Arenas-Gomez died of a stab wound of the left upper chest as a result of a homicide.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, officers were called to the 3300 block of Brussels Street, near South Maryland Parkway and East Desert Inn Road, just after 2 a.m. Monday.

Officers found a wounded man lying on the sidewalk. Police said the man appeared to have sustained stab injuries.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital Trauma, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said homicide detectives were assigned to investigate the death. Metro did not identify any suspects or a motive in the case.

Police said the incident marked the 87th homicide in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
