LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man sought in the shooting death of a woman outside of a west Las Vegas restaurant was arrested Thursday.

Records at Clark County Detention Center showed Carim Cruz, 27, was booked on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a gun into a structure or vehicle.

Las Vegas Metro police said they were seeking Cruz as the suspect in the Aug. 16 shooting that took place in a parking lot near the Geisha House restaurant, just off the 215 Beltway and Flamingo Road.

According to police, Deanna Serano, 33, died as a result of a shooting that happened just after 2:30 a.m. She and another woman were hit by bullets in the incident, police said.

Metro said Cruz got into a verbal confrontation at the restaurant that later turned physical in the parking lot. The suspect went into a vehicle, drove by the crowd and opened fire at them. The suspect opened fire again just as he was leaving, according to detectives.

Police said Cruz was taken into custody at about noon Thursday in the 500 block of South 4th Street.

CCDC records showed Cruz was due for an initial court hearing on Monday.
