First Non-invasive Procedure Specifically Indicated by the FDA to Improve Lines and Wrinkles on the Décolleté

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 21, 2014

The Ulthera System recently received FDA-clearance to non-invasively treat the chest to improve lines and wrinkles on the décolleté. We were patiently waiting for the décolletage protocols and system software upgrades, just made available to physicians. We are excited to be offering this treatment to our patients, as its really one of its kind, says Julie Russak, MD.

Ultherapy is a non-surgical, lifting procedure that stimulates the bodys own natural healing process to lift the skin over time. The use of FDA-cleared ultrasound technology enables physicians, for the first time, to see and then treat the deepest support layers of the skin typically addressed in cosmetic surgery without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin.
The chest is one of the most-exposed and least-cared-for areas of the body. Overtime, sun damage, natural aging and lifestyle habits lead to thin the skin and create wrinkles, sunspots and crepe-paper-like texture, says Julie Russak, MD. Side-sleeping, which compresses the skin, also contributes to the vertical wrinkling pattern on the chest.

The Ultherapy chest treatment uses micro-focused ultrasound energy with imagining (MFUV) to non-invasively heat tissue at multiple depths, resulting in the regeneration of the skins collagen and elastin cushion that gives the skin its youthful properties. This has a firming and strengthening effect on the skin and smooths out lines and wrinkles.

While there are many energy-based devices on the market that are used to treat wrinkles and lines on various surfaces of the skin, the Ultherapy Décolletage Treatment is now the ONLY non-invasive procedure specifically indicated by the FDA to improve lines and wrinkles on the chest.

The beauty of this treatment is the zero downtime. My patients can pop in for a 30 minute lift, and go back to the office with no residual pain or post-care protocol, says Dr. Russak. Lasers and chemical peels have proven effective in evening out the texture and tone of the chest, addressing the surface of the skin, however, they dont essentially smooth out wrinkles and tighten laxity, found in the deeper, structural support of skin.

With just one Ultherapy treatment, the lifting process is initiated, but the effect will build gradually over the course of two to three months, as new, stronger collagen and elastin are created. Further improvements can even appear up to six months following a procedure as this collagen-building process continues.
