LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Las Vegas-area little league team is a win away from the Little League World Series, and making state history.

After asking the community to help fund their trip to San Bernardino to play in the Little League Western Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, CA, Mountain Ridge has not disappointed, having won all five of their games.

Their most recent win came Friday afternoon when they beat the team from Southern California 5 to 1.

Now, the all-star squad of 12- and 13-year-olds must beat the team from Northern California when they meet Saturday night at 6 p.m.

With a win, the 14-member team will advance to the first round of the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. They would also become the first team in Nevada history to make it to the league's World Series.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN.

FOX5's Jon Castagnino will have highlights from the game on FOX5 News at 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
