Mesquite police said a woman they arrested last week after a high-speed chase on Interstate 15 and a brief standoff was suspected of robbing a bank in Utah, where the pursuit began.

According to the police department outside of the Las Vegas Valley, 24-year-old Sandeep Kaur, of Union City, CA, was arrested on July 31 in the southbound lanes of Interstate 15.

Mesquite police said they were requested to handle a pursuit that started in St. George, UT and was heading into Nevada.

Police said Kaur was driving a Nissan Altima at speeds of up to 130 mph when Nevada Highway Patrol and Mesquite PD set up road spikes to stop the vehicle. Kaur's vehicle stopped on the shoulder of I-15, where officers and troopers tried to arrest the woman, Mesquite police said.

Police said Kaur initially refused to exit the vehicle but eventually surrendered.

Kaur was charged with resisting officers with a deadly weapon, attempting to disobey a police officer, endangering persons and/or property and aggressive driving.

The police department said she will be facing charges stemming from the robbery at a U.S. Bank branch in Utah. Police also learned Kaur was also suspected in other bank heists in California and Arizona.
