Storm chasing with Dan Marries

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Rain water rushes alongside a sidewalk on Valencia Road on the south side, pouring out onto to the street as cars and trucks splash their way through.

Just a couple of miles away near Drexel and Country Club, a driver stalled her engine while trying to cross a flooded street. Firefighters were called to the scene and helped the woman to safety. She wasn't hurt but it's a reminder to never cross flooded streets and washes.

The driver of an SUV didn't heed that advice as he plowed his way through a wash rushing across Coachline near Twin Peaks Road. Everyone else turned around to found a safer route.

At times, the rain was coming down so hard, visibility was extremely limited and forced drivers to slow down. It also forced storm drains to work overtime, trying to clear the streets of all the rainwater.
