LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Tuesday's shooting at Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip does not appear to be gang-motivated, according to police.

Las Vegas Metro police said that about 6 p.m. they received a call about a shooting at the mall located near Spring Mountain Road and Las Vegas Boulevard.

Metro's Lt. Mark Reddon said a man was shot in the neck near the mall's food court and ran down an escalator to the Steve Madden shoe store. He said officers closed portions of the mall as they investigated and evacuated as many people as they could.

At first, police said, they were not able to locate the victim, but the man later showed up at Mountain View Hospital, and was last listed in serious but stable condition. He was later transferred to Sunrise Hospital.

On Wednesday, police said the victim is uncooperative with detectives as they try to identify the shooter.

Investigators said witnesses reported a fight near the food court before the shooting. Initially, police said that the shooting may have been gang-related. On Wednesday, however, police said that while the parties involved may have gang affiliations, the shooting does not appear to be gang-motivated.

Several people who were at the mall at the time of the shooting documented the shooting on Twitter.

"At the fashion show mall in the back of Steve Madden because there was a gun shot," one user wrote.

"Gunshots fired at Fashion Show Mall and everyone being evacuated. Being hustled out of mall now! Crazy," Twitter user Bill Kennedy wrote.

Also on Wednesday, representatives for Fashion Show Mall issued this statement about the shooting:

"The safety and security of our customers, retailers and employees is always our top priority at Fashion Show. We have a highly trained and skilled security team who is vigilant in its efforts to ensure a comfortable, safe shopping experience. We also have an excellent working relationship with Metro. We are grateful for Metro's speedy response and appreciate the support of all our patrons and retailers. Fashion Show will open today at 10 a.m. as usual."

Police say the shooter is a black male between the age of 15 and 20 years old.  They're also looking for two other men around the same age who were with him at the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
