Man in custody following SE Valley standoff

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro officers along with SWAT officers became involved in a standoff with an armed man in the southeast part of the Valley on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the department's Officer Larry Hadfield, police responded to a house on Roanridge Avenue, near the intersection of Hacienda Avenue and Mountain Vista Street, at 3:25 p.m. following a report of a man with a gun.

Hadfield said the armed man said he was going to kill himself and others.

The man was taken into custody after 5 p.m.
