Pedestrian struck, killed in North Las Vegas

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

North Las Vegas police said a man was killed Monday night when he was hit by a sedan in the area of Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street.

According to the department's Officer Aaron Patty, the 67-year-old man was not in a marked crosswalk when he was struck before 9:30 p.m.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

Citing an investigation, police said the man attempted to cross Cheyenne when a woman driving Toyota sedan struck him.

Police said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the case.

In a separate incident, a man was hit by a vehicle in the area of Flamingo Road and Arville Street in Las Vegas. The crash happened about 10 p.m. Monday, Las Vegas Metro police said.

The man was conscious but bleeding from the head, according to FOX5's Elizabeth Watts, who witnessed the accident. The driver involved remained at the scene of the accident.
