On Thursday, June 26, Bridgeports nonprofit leaders, young people, community members, and local philanthropists gathered at 1057 Broad St. to celebrate the grand opening of the All Stars Project of Bridgeports new offices.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting was led by All Stars VP/Youth Programs, Center of Youth Program Expertise, and Director/ASP of Bridgeport, Pam Lewis, and ASP National Board Member/Bridgeport Launch Chair and Westport resident, Charlie Adams.

The rapidly expanding All Stars Project launched their award-winning, performance-based after school youth development programs in Bridgeport in March, ranging from student-run talent shows to career workshops with big-name corporations like Tiffany & Co.

Jose Rojas, 18, a member of the All Stars Youth Leadership Team and recent graduate of Bassick High School, made a statement about his participation in the All Stars programs. Rojas explained, I love being an All Star. I can feel myself growing and developing, and I get the chance to do something positive for my community.

Lewis and Adams have led the launch of the All Stars Project in Bridgeport, the organizations sixth city. Said Lewis, All over the country, All Stars programs are transforming the lives of youth and poor communities using the developmental power of performance.

The launch of the All Stars Project of Bridgeport has been made possible in part by the Fairfield County Community Foundation.
