Officers quickly nab two suspects just a short time after an armed robbery in Henrico's East End.

Police tell us the victim was approached around 9:20 p.m. Friday in the parking lot of Holiday Inn Express in the 400 block of International Center Drive. They say the victim knew the two men and at least one of them had a handgun.

We are told the robbers got away with the victim's cash, wallet and cell phone. That person was able to call police and give a suspect and vehicle description.  An officer located the vehicle near Pleasant Street and Newbridge Road. They then arrested Darnell Elliotte Jr. and Tony Spain Jr. without incident.

Both men are now charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Georgia Hawkins was in town for a wedding. She and her family are staying at this Holiday Inn Express. She isn't alarmed, but she says having a security guard in the parking lot at night would be helpful.

"It would cut down on the people loitering around the building it would cut down on the crime in the area in particular the area of the hotel," Hawkins said.

Police say the victim gave a pretty good description of the suspect's vehicle. This sent police on a hunt for the men responsible.

"It gives me security knowing that I can come out without fear of someone robbing me or attacking me or something like that. When I have security on the premises," Hawkins said.

Hawkins also said more eyes and ears near the hotel would make others from out of town feel a little more secure.
