Commuters are facing serious delays after a crash killed one person and injured five others late Tuesday afternoon, said Phoenix Fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra.
Fire authorities said it was a single-vehicle, rollover accident.
The eastbound lanes of Interstate-10 have reopened at Seventh Street, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The HOV and left lanes on I-10 westbound at 16th Street are blocked as crews continue cleanup and investigate the crash.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety vehicular crimes unit is at the scene, said DPS Officer Carrick Cook.
No other information is immediately available.
