LONDON (APTN/FOX) - Angelina Jolie joined British Foreign Minister William Hague on a four-day summit in London that focuses on sexual violence in war zones.

The summit aims to identify ways to improve investigating sexual violence and provide support for women and girls. The goal is to increase overall global standards for these kinds of sex crimes in conflict zones.

Hague will host a meeting on Nigerian terror group Boko Haram with leaders from that country and other parts of Africa.

The group's recent kidnapping of hundreds of girls drew attention to violence against women in conflict areas.

Jolie and Hague also planned to launch new protocols to strengthen prosecutions for rape, particularly in conflict areas.
