LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Two people were injured in a shooting in east Las Vegas late Thursday night.

The shooting happened at 11:50 p.m. at the Santa Fe Apartments near the intersection of East Charleston Boulevard and Interstate 515.

Officers said a man and a woman were injured in the shooting. The victims were taken to University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Investigators said they are searching for the gunman, but believe the shooter knew the victims.

Laura Meltzer with Metro said the department's Gang Detail Unit is investigating the case.
