Posted: Updated:

With the school coming to a close, North Las Vegas police are looking ahead to next year to fill crossing guard positions.

The police department says crossing guards will be needed to assist young students to safely cross busy intersections on their way to and from school. Typical work times are between 6:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., depending on the assigned school.

Applicants are also required to hold a high school diploma or G.E.D., pass a background check and drug test and hold a valid Nevada driver's license.

People interested in the positions can apply at and click on "Employment". People can contact the NLV crossing guard supervisor at 702-633-1017 ext. 6671.
