LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Gusty winds Wednesday prompted officials to issue a dust advisory for the Las Vegas Valley.
Forecasters said the 20 to 30 mph winds that settled into southern Nevada early Wednesday morning should relax by late evening. However, breezy conditions will remain for Thursday as well.
The Clark County Department of Air Quality said dust levels climbed to unhealthy levels by late Wednesday morning, prompting the alert. They said people who have respiratory diseases should stay inside until the winds subside.
FOX5 Chief Meteorologist Ted Pretty said a calm day is expected Friday before more winds arrive by the weekend.
