If you're looking for work in the Silver State, the silver screen is hiring.
The year 2014 is the start of a renaissance for motion pictures in Las Vegas. The city has reached production levels never seen before.
"There's times in the past we've had one major motion picture filming. I don't know if we can say in recent memory there's three films filming at the same time," said Eric Preiss, director of the Nevada Film Office.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 is scheduled to film at Wynn Las Vegas through June.
An 80s-themed movie starring Dakota Fanning is currently shooting downtown, including the Triple George Grill.
A supernatural ghost thriller co-written by Eli Roth known, for now, only as Lake Mead is also underway.
"It really behooves them to hire as many locals as they can and to no longer bring in as many people from out of state as they typically do," said Preiss, referring to the state's 15 percent tax break for filmmakers that began Jan. 1, 2014.
That percentage can increase if the majority of crew members are Nevada residents and the majority of filming days takes place in the Silver State.
"Nevada's new transferable tax credit is designed to create jobs," said Preiss.
Las Vegas casting agency Goldman & Associates is in need of extras that are Nevada residents for Mall Cop 2. If interested, you're asked to register with the agency here.
If you are interested in the Roth movie, directed by Las Vegan Jessica Chandler, you are asked to send an email with a current photo to firstname.lastname@example.org.
"I'm known for chasing people down in grocery stores and in parking lots, and handing them a card and saying, 'Please, please come read with me,'" well-known casting director John Jackson told FOX5's MORE Access earlier this week.
With the three films, plus a fourth Preiss said has applied for the tax credit, he estimates $33 million will be spent in Nevada during production and 3900 locals will be put to work.
