Police: Man struck by car outside of crosswalk on Jones

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police said a 57-year-old pedestrian who was crossing Jones Boulevard on Tuesday night was outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a car.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Jiahong Wang, of Las Vegas, was critically injured in a wreck on at the intersection of Jones and Fairbanks Road, just south of Flamingo Road, just before 9 p.m.

Police said Wang was taken to University Medical Center, where he was treated for life-threatening, critical injuries.

Citing witness, police said a 47-year-old driver in a 2005 Lexus was traveling northbound on Jones in the center travel lane when the vehicle struck Wang.

An investigation into the incident was ongoing.
