US-23 reopens in Monroe County after semi rollover

Posted: Updated:
MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

A semi rollover temporarily shut down both southbound lanes and one northbound lane of US-23 in Monroe County, just south of US-223 Tuesday morning. The lanes have since reopened.

We're told the accident happened in the median of US-23 when a semi traveling northbound rolled over. The semi's driver claimed to be drowsy at the time of the accident. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

An air ambulance was called to the scene of the accident. The driver was flown to a Toledo hospital with minor injuries after the Jaws of Life were used to extract him.
