One man is dead following a shooting in a parking lot northeast of downtown Las Vegas on Monday evening.
According to Las Vegas Metro Officer David Valenta, the shooting occurred before 7:30 p.m. on Harris Avenue, near Bruce Street and Maryland Parkway.
Police believe the shooter was in a vehicle when he opened fire on the victim. The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooter fled the scene in his vehicle, police said.
Police closed Harris at Bruce as they investigated.
