Two northwest Las Vegas roads that were briefly closed because of a natural gas leak reopened Monday afternoon.
Tim Szymanski, spokesman for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, said someone called about 12:40 p.m. to report an odor of gas near the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Torrey Pines Drive.
Stephen Miller, spokesman for Southwest Gas, said a third party was working to repair potholes in the area and accidentally struck a gas line.
Two lanes of West Lake Mead and a lane of Torrey Pines was closed while repair crews shut off the gas to the broken line. Those roads reopened about 1:25 p.m., Miller said.
