Metro police are investigating a homicide after the death of a 24-year-old female.
Police were called to assist the fire department at a medical call just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Silverwood Apartments near South Nellis Boulevard. Police say the fire department first responded and didn't think the female's injures were adding up with initial reports.
Police aren't saying what type of injuries the female had, but they say she was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
A male, who had some sort of relationship with the woman, is now a person of interest, according to police and is being interviewed by homicide detectives.
The name of the victim has not yet been released.
