PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A 37-year-old motorcyclist is in the hospital with critical injuries after colliding with a vehicle in Phoenix on Friday.

The motorcycle was heading northbound on 44th Street, north of Camelback Road, when it collided with a Nissan Cube, going from one business to another across the street, Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson said.

The 37-year-old man was wearing a helmet but was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the 64-year-old driver of the Nissan was not hurt and her two teenage passengers had minor injuries.

Thompson said the woman was evaluated and did not appear to be impaired.
