The Clark County Coroner's Office released the name of a 3-year-old boy who, police say, was found unconscious in a bathtub.

Medical examiners, though, did not disclose a cause and manner of death for Noah Allen.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, the child's mother, Christine Allen, 30, called 911 reporting her child drowned in a Rock Springs Vista apartment home near Vegas and Buffalo drives about 6:15 p.m. Saturday.

Medical personnel arrived and found the toddler in the bathtub unconscious.

The boy was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Metro, homicide detectives determined the Christine Allen may have been experiencing a medical crisis at the time the boy was submerged in the bathtub of water.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested the mother and booked her into Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder.

"She looked like a nice, sweet girl," said Kandy Wendell, a neighbor. "She just seemed like a regular, single mommy."

Investigators are trying to figure out why the mother would allegedly kill her own son. Wendell says a detective was shocked himself when she said she, too, had a child who drowned in the bathtub. Wendell said the detective asked her if she ever shared that with the mother. He told Wendell the mother admitted to drowning her son.

Leaving flowers on the stairway leading to their apartment, Wendell said she actually feels sorry for the mother.

"I know how it feels to lose a child, no matter how they die," Wendell said.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
