LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas Metro police have two topics on tap for their monthly First Tuesday event, and one of them is particularly hot right now.

Police will discuss community-involved efforts to fight crime as well as traffic accidents. The topics will be discussed at all participating area commands on March 4, beginning at 7 p.m.

Las Vegas traffic and vehicle accidents are of particular concern as the department has, as of Monday, adopted a policy of not responding to non-injury accidents.

Police said the move was a response to the number of man hours typically devoted to response to fender benders. Representatives from the department's traffic bureau will be on hand to answer questions.

First Tuesday is an open house meeting anyone is welcome to attend.
