Dreyer's Outshine® Launches New "Fruit and Veggie" Bars Line That Combines Fruits and Vegetables in a Frozen Snack
OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Dreyer's Outshine fruit bars brand is launching the first national line of frozen fruit bars that combines fruit and vegetable ingredients. The line, called "Fruit and Veggie bars," features five new innovative flavors, including: Blueberry Medley, Tangerine Carrot, Apple and Greens, Peach Mango Medley and Strawberry Rhubarb. The new line also includes a 12-count multi-pack featuring Strawberry Rhubarb, Tangerine Carrot and Blueberry Medley.
"We wanted to add a unique twist to our namesake fruit bars with fruit and vegetable combinations in delicious, complementary flavors," said Kerry Hopkins, Outshine Brand Manager. "By adding vegetables to our recipes in this new line, we have created distinct flavor profiles that are a tasty way to include vegetables in your diet."
The new Fruit and Veggie bars line offers a refreshing fruit and vegetable frozen snack that rejuvenates with every bite. At 35-60 calories each, Fruit and Veggie bars contain at least 25% vegetables from purees and juices, so consumers can feel good knowing they're enjoying a healthy snack. The line consists of the following refreshing flavors:

Dreyer's Outshine Fruit and Veggie bars will be available nationwide starting in February 2014 for $4.39 per box, which includes six 2.5 oz. bars. The Strawberry Rhubarb, Tangerine Carrot and Blueberry Medley Multi-Pack includes twelve 1.5 oz. bars per box, also at $4.29.
In 2013, the Dreyer's parent brand rebranded to the Dreyer's Outshine brand and launched two new lines: Coconut Waters™ bars, which are the first national coconut water-based frozen fruit bars available in retail; and the Limited Edition Seasonal Picks line, which includes seasonal flavors that are inspired by the farmer's market.
In addition to the new lines, the Outshine brand includes existing Dreyer's Fruit Bars favorites, such as Creamy Coconut, Grape, Lemon, Lime, Mango, Peach, Pineapple, Pomegranate, Raspberry, Strawberry and Tangerine; Multi-packs features Grape, Cherry, and Tangerine; and Lime, Strawberry, and Wildberry; No Sugar Added multi-packs includes Black Cherry, Strawberry-Kiwi, and Mixed Berry; and Strawberry, Tangerine and Raspberry.
