Las Vegas bars, clubs recognized in Nightclub Awards

Some of Las Vegas' established and newly formed bars and clubs are being honored for the year in nightlife and drink slinging.

The Nightclub & Bar Media Group announced the winners of its Las Vegas Nightclub Awards. A ceremony to recognize the honorees set during next month's Nightclub and Bar Convention and Trade Show scheduled for March 24-26.

Organizers of the awards said the honorees were chosen not just on how good the places look inside.

"Receiving this award means the recipient has demonstrated the skill and innovation needed to succeed and excel in this highly competitive business," said Jon Taffer, president of Nightclub & Bar Media Group.

A number of honorees will be recognized in the following categories:

Cocktail Bar of the Year

  • Winner: Laundry Room @ Commonwealth
  • Finalists: The Chandelier and Vesper Bar

Dayclub of the Year

  • Winner: Encore Beach
  • Finalists: Daylight and Wet Republic

Lounge of the Year

  • Winner: Ghostbar
  • Finalists: Fireside Lounge and Parasol Up & Down

New Concept of the Year

  • Winner: Light
  • Finalists: Hakkasan and Sapphire Pool

Nightclub of the Year

  • Winner: Hakkasan
  • Finalists: Light and XS

Promo, Party or Event of the Year

  • Winner: Summer Lovin' with Kaskade @ Marquee
  • Finalists: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Wednesday @ Surrender and Night Swim @ XS

Resident DJ of the Year

  • Winner: Diplo, XS/Surrender
  • Finalists: Calvin Harris, Hakkasan and Major Lazer, 1OAK

Restaurant Bar of the Year

  • Winner: Herbs n Rye
  • Finalists: TAO Restaurant and Yellowtail
