More than a dozen people in Henderson were arrested for driving under the influence during the city's own Super Bowl weekend enforcement.
Henderson police said their officers, along with those from Las Vegas Metro police, made 223 stops during saturation patrols from Jan. 31 through Feb. 2.
Fourteen drivers were charged with driving under the influence as part of the enforcement.
Of the stops, 86 tickets were issued for speeding with another 19 citations issued for running a red light. In all, nearly 300 citations were issued in the effort.
Henderson police cited the eight impaired driving deaths from 2013 as a factor into their strong enforcement.
The checkpoint was made possible through a Joining Forces Grant by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety.
