Springfield police officers recognized a wanted man at a local gas station and seized a large quantity of illegal narcotics from him after they made an arrest at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

When the officers approached the suspect at the corner of Sumner Avenue and White Street, he leaned inside of his white Lexus, according to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney.

The officers arrested 36-year-old Damond Fee and confiscated a large quantity of oxycodone pills as well as $273 from him, Delaney said.

Fee, of 101 Washington St., was charged with possession of oxycodone with intent to distribute, in addition to his two warrants.
