LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County Coroner's Office released the names of a woman and man who died after a head-on crash on Summerlin Parkway Wednesday.

Medical examiners did not release, though, the cause of deaths for Savanna Gonzales, 20, and Frank Anthony Spenia III, 31, both of Las Vegas.

According to Trooper Loy Hixson with Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened before 4:20 p.m., involving a sedan and a pickup truck. Police said the two occupants of the sedan were killed. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said it's suspected alcohol played a role in the crash.

Eastbound Summerlin Parkway was closed at Rampart with traffic being diverted to Town Center Drive. The parkway reopened to traffic about 9 p.m.

Hixson said it appeared the driver of the pickup crossed the westbound lanes of Summerlin Parkway to the center median and into oncoming traffic.

The NHP said the woman was driving the sedan with a man as her passenger. Both were killed on impact.

Last week, the NHP ran a series of ads coinciding with the Super Bowl, warning people about the dangers of driving under the influence.
