LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The UNLV men's basketball team, coming off two straight home wins, will travel to California to face Mountain West newcomer San Jose State Wednesday at 7 p.m.

It's the one and only meeting between the teams this season and will be available on ESPN3. The teams haven't met since 1997.

The Runnin' Rebels beat Utah State 62-42 last Wednesday and edged Fresno State 75-73 in overtime on Saturday.

Prior to the homestand, UNLV collected a 76-73 win at New Mexico on Jan. 15 and lost 63-52 at San Diego State on Jan. 18.

Forward Roscoe Smith continues to lead the nation in rebounding average with 12.2 rpg. He's second in the county in double-doubles with 13.

Khem Birch, who's notched nine double-doubles this season, is fourth in the country in blocked shots with 3.6 per game.
