Henderson Police said a motorcyclist was killed Thursday night at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Major Avenue.
The wreck occurred about 7:40 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and one other vehicle.
According to police, the 53-year-old motorcyclist ran a red light heading southbound on Major Avenue and slammed into a Dodge Avenger. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Dodge was not injured. The passenger was taken to St. Rose Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they suspect alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
The intersection of Boulder and Major was closed following the accident.
This marked the second deadly motorcycle accident in the Valley on Thursday.
About 2:10 p.m., a rider was killed in a crash near Sahara Avenue and Interstate 15. Police reported witnesses said the motorcyclist was on the wrong side of the road, doing wheelies. He was struck by a vehicle, ejected and run over.
