LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A water line break forced traffic to be blocked in the northwest end of the Las Vegas Valley Tuesday morning.

The Las Vegas Valley Water District said a contractor struck a water line near the area of Washington Avenue and Decatur Boulevard.

Southbound traffic on Decatur was reduced to one lane as a result of the line break.

The water district estimated traffic to be affected through mid-morning.

The water district suggested drivers take Jones or Valley View boulevards as alternate routes.
