A 15-year-old girl who did not come home from school Friday was found safe, the teen's father said Monday.

Kearstin Ellis was placed in the care of Child Protective Services after disappearing over the weekend. The girl's father James Ellis confirmed the child's recovery Monday.

James Ellis said someone saw her on the news during her disappearance and turned her in to CPS. The girl is doing fine, James Ellis said.

James Ellis told FOX5 Kearstin attends Desert Pines High School and was supposed to ride the bus home from school Friday but did not come home that afternoon.
