LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Attendance is up 30 percent compared to 2013 for this year's Adult Entertainment Expo and AVN awards show at the Hard Rock Hotel.

It's about 25,000 gawkers and the adult film stars they're here to see. There's also about twice as many exhibitors, 188, compared to 100 last year.

But, "Porn is in a little bit of trouble," said adult actor Ron Jeremy.

The trouble for Jeremy and every other adult film producer in Los Angeles is due to Los Angeles  County's voter-approved condom law.

"We don't mind condoms. Not a problem. The thing is it's the competition of Europe, Asia, Scandinavia that makes it difficult," said Jeremy.

"People don't want to live in fear of the cops knocking on the door and shutting down the location, confiscating the equipment," said film director Keiren Lee.

Lee works for production company Brazzers, which moved its production offices to Las Vegas six years ago.

"We've had great success over here with locations. Vegas is very more open, a lot more welcoming," said Lee.

Fewer health restrictions and lower permit fees make it easier for producers to get into bed with Clark County.

"You can't shoot anywhere, and if you do it's two hours away from LA and you still have to use a condom, and they're creating all these rules and boundaries," said adult film star Jesse Jane of working in southern California.

Jane believes Las Vegas and Miami will be the future home of many production companies.
