LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police are investigating a woman's slaying on Friday at Nellis Air Force Base, and they believe it stemmed from a domestic argument.

Police were called to the base by security before 10:30 a.m. in response to a report of the discovery of a woman's body in the garage of an on-base residence.

Police said it appeared the woman died as a result of blunt force trauma and that she had been in an argument with her husband, Rickey Massey Jr., 32, of Las Vegas, a few hours earlier.

Massey was at the home when security initially responded, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder.

The victim will be identified by the coroner in the coming days.

Metro said that the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call the Homicide Section at 702-828-3521,  or to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555. You may also leave information online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
