A head-on collision left one driver with life-threatening injuries and a passenger badly hurt Friday morning.
The collision happened about 7:30 a.m. near 27th Avenue at Dobbins Road in Phoenix when a westbound car with the driver and passenger tried to pass another car, lost control and hit an eastbound car, Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos said.
No one in the eastbound car was seriously injured, Martos said.
The intersection was closed through much of the rush hour.
